THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) QUEEN OF JAZZ (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls and fly-jumped leaving the stalls.
b) JUST FOR U (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly inwards and was slow into stride, losing three lengths.
c) LADY THEIA (*DB Geerthsen) jumped awkwardly, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) LADY THEIA (*DB Geerthsen), which raced green, shifted inwards slightly away from the crop at the 500m.
b) Leaving the 400m GLOBAL SCENE (C Maujean) shifted in and brushed the inside running rail.
c) FIRST WISH (R Fourie) raced green and was hanging in from approximately the 200m.
d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding JUST FOR U (S Khumalo), Trainer K Mitchley will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e) Trainer K Mitchley was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that she failed to vaccinate VERY VAR VAR against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer K Mitchley signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
f) QUEEN OF JAZZ, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
