THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) JANE'S VISION (R A Venniker) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. b) At the 700m SWEET JULIA (G Lerena) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the inside of BEADED GOWN (*J Botes) which was carried in marginally by SWISS PARADISE (M Thackeray) which in turn was carried in by PRANKSTER (S Moodley) which rolled inwards. Jockey S Moodley appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and he was advised to take more caution when shifting ground in races in future. c) SWEET JULIA (G Lerena) was baulked for a clear run in the concluding stages. d) In view of the performance of JANE'S VISION (R A Venniker) (8.25 lengths, 5/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Apprentice J Botes (BEADED GOWN) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. f) SWISS PARADISE (M Thackeray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
