THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OPERA SWING (*DB Geerthsen) jumped slow, losing one length. b) METAR (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) FOR ALL WE KNOW (R Fourie) and UNYIELDING (K Minnie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of FOR ALL WE KNOW (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Trainer AC Greeff was requested to report back should he find anything amiss with this mare on her return to the stables. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with METAR. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Trainer GD Smith was requested to report back should he find anything amiss with this mare on her return to the stables. c) Jockey S Khumalo appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his riding of SUN SPECTACULAR. He explained to the Board that this race was run at an extremely fast pace and his mount had compounded in the straight. Jockey S Khumalo's explanation was noted. However, Jockey S Khumalo was advised to provide an accurate and detailed account of any circumstances or incidents that have a material effect on the vigour of his riding and the performance of his mounts in order to prevent query from the Stewards. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. d) GLOBAL RUSH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
