THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO GLOBAL ZEE (J GATES) PROVING INTRACTABLE IN THE STALLS AND SUBSEQUENTLY BEING SCRATCHED. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLOBAL ZEE (J Gates) was unruly in the stalls. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer P P Labuschagne to be advised. b) DYLAN'S CHAMP (K Matsunyane) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CHOISAANADA (D Schwarz) raced green. b) KOMATI RIVER (C Habib) hung in from the 300m. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to GLOBAL ZEE, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on a Raceday. Suspension dates: 21 July 2024 to 27 July 2024. GLOBAL ZEE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P P Labuschagne to be advised. d) ZANTHAR (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee D Nondlazi, acting on behalf of Trainers M/A Azzie, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GLOBAL ZEE was ridden by Jockey J Gates (declared 20 July 2024 at 12H15). Jockey R Danielson was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on GLOBAL ZEE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer P P Labuschagne, thereby necessitating a change of Rider. Jockey R Danielson signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. b) KOMATI RIVER: Jockey C Habib weighed out at 55,1kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
