DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, BEYOND THE HORIZON BECAME RESTLESS AND BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATES. BEYOND THE HORIZON WAS RESTRAINED BY JOCKEY P MXOLI, RETURNED TO THE START, WAS SUBJECT TO A VETERINARY EXAMINATION, DECLARED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THIS LED TO A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) OMBUDSMAN (C Zackey) was stubborn loading.
b) BEYOND THE HORIZON (P Mxoli) broke through the front gates, was restrained by Jockey P Mxoli, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon , declared fit to race and reloaded. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (GT).
c) MIZZEN SWORD (J Greyling) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Shortly before the finish line, OMBUDSMAN (C Zackey) and POTBERRIE (M Yeni) were carried out by BLAZE A WAY (G Lerena), which raced green and shifted out away from the crop.
b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BEYOND THE HORIZON, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 24 July 2024 to 30 July 2024. BEYOND THE HORIZON may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P F Matchett was advised
c) BLAZE A WAY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
