MORE THAN A DIME and HELLO SUMMER lost one length, respectively. PATH TO GLORY lost one length and thereafter was slow into stride. MISS BOOMERANG over-raced in the early and middle stages. Jockey Samuel reported that ANDALUSIAN made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. Jockey Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with BARINOIS in the concluding stages. Jockey Ngwane signed an admission of guilt for a contravention, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse PATH TO GLORY more than 12 times in the entire Race. In deciding what penalty to impose, the Board considered Jockey Ngwane's recent record in relation to this Rule and the manner in which he used his crop. Accordingly, a penalty of was imposed. The farrier attended to the left fore shoe on PURPLE PERSUASION at the start. SUZI WOO selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ANDALUSIAN - abnormal respiratory noise and not striding out right fore. BARINOIS - nothing obvious detected.
