THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) UNZEN (G Lerena) and TAIL OF THE COMET (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) MAIN DEFENDER (M Yeni) hung in in the concluding stages. c) In view of the performance of TAIL OF THE COMET (S Khumalo), which hung in badly from the 400m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) UNZEN (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
