The start of this was delayed due to the delay to Race 3 and due to Jockey M Yeni having to resaddle LADIES WORLD at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OCEAN PALACE (R A Venniker) and TRUE LOVE'S KISS (S Moodley) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) An Inquiry will be opened to establish why CANFORD QUEEN (S Veale) and IDEAL GIFT (C Habib) suffered interference at the 1400m. b) Shortly after entering the straight TOP TEN (A Mgudlwa) and in turn WAY TO BURN (J Jacobs) and DUCHESS OF GOLD (N Patel) all attempted to improve into a diminishing available run on the outside of GELSOMINA (C Maujean) which rolled out in front of TOP TEN (A Mgudlwa). As a result TOP TEN (A Mgudlwa) and WAY TO BURN (J Jacobs) were tightened and eased, and DUCHESS OF GOLD (N Patel) was eased and switched to the inside of WAY TO BURN (J Jacobs). In view of the circumstances surrounding this incident and the available video coverage, the Board deemed this a racing incident and took no further action. c) At the 200m DUCHESS OF GOLD (N Patel) was switched to the inside of TOP TEN (A Mgudlwa) which rolled out marginally, to continue its run. d) Jockey S Moodley reported that TRUE LOVE'S KISS did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) WOODLAND GLADE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
