THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DRIVE BY (*B Plaatjies) jumped awkwardly and lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start BEADED GOWN (M Yeni) and ARVERNI PRINCESS (C Maujean) came together and bumped. b) Leaving the 400m ARVERNI PRINCESS (C Maujean) was briefly tightened between SWEET JULIA (R A Venniker) which commenced to hang in and the inside running rail. c) DISCERNING (T Godden) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with BEADED GOWN in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning DISCERNING, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. (Suspension dates : 01.08.2024 - 29.09.2024). f) DRIVE BY (*B Plaatjies), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L W Goosen advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) BEADED GOWN : Returned post-race having cast the left hind shoe.
