THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) THE WINTER LAKE (L Mxothwa) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler, causing a delay. Trainer GD Smith was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. b) FIRST ORIGIN (*DB Geerthsen) was hanging in from the 300m. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that JEWEL CAT made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) THE WINTER LAKE (L Mxothwa) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
