THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DYNAMITE JET (M van Rensburg) was stubborn loading. b) DIRTY MIMOSA (KA Brewer) was slow into stride. c) AND ACTION (S Veale) jumped awkwardly and cast its right front shoe leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DYNAMITE JET (M van Rensburg) refused to parade during the canter past. Trainer E Kaknis was advised that should this horse behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. b) CONNECTION (*N Nastili) and OVER THE ATLANTIC (C Maujean) bumped shortly after the start. c) DIRTY MIMOSA (KA Brewer) failed to muster sufficient speed and raced detached from the field from approximately the 1000m. d) DYNAMITE JET (M van Rensburg), which raced green, raced wide on the turn and into the straight. e) ETHENSBEAUT (S Naidoo) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr M Bawden) f) CONNECTION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
