THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLD FOR AFRICA (*N Nastili) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. b) UNYIELDING (S Veale) was nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. c) CRYSTAL MAIDEN (M van Rensburg) jumped slow, losing one length. d) CICADIDAE (D Schwarz) and JOSI MO (KA Brewer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start JOSI MO (KA Brewer) was awkwardly placed on the inside of CHRONICLESOFNANIA (C Maujean), had to be steadied and made contact with CICADIDAE (D Schwarz) when Jockey C Maujean allowed CHRONICLESOFNANIA to shift ground inwards, which resulted in both CICADIDAE (D Schwarz) and JOSI MO (KA Brewer) becoming unbalanced for a number of strides. Jockey C Maujean (CHRONICLESOFNANIA) appeared before the Board and was advised to be more aware of other runners when shifting ground. b) LADY ZULTANITE (S Khathi) shifted outward away from the crop from the 250m. c) Shortly before the finish CICADIDAE (D Schwarz) and BE REAL (*DB Geerthsen) came together and brushed slightly when these two horses raced in close proximity. d) LADY ZULTANITE (S Khathi) returned with a unilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr M Bawden) e) UNYIELDING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) f) LADY ZULTANITE, the second-placed horse was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
