THE STARTER REPORTED: a) YOU WIN AGAIN reared and rushed the front gates shortly before the start was effected, dislodged Jockey S Veale, bolted the course, was taken in hand, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. During this incident, SUMMER ODYSSEY (C Maujean), LADY MAJORCA (D Schwarz) and SYMBOL OF LOVE (M Yeni) rushed the front gates and cantered a short distance before being restrained by their Riders and returned to the start. The course Veterinary Surgeon examined these fillies and passed them suitable to race. b) During the subsequent loading process, LADY MAJORCA (D Schwarz) reared as the start was effected and brushed open the front gate of stall gate 5, gaining an advantage. The Starter called a false start and, after cantering a short distance, all Riders were able to restrain their mounts and return to the start. c) LADY MAJORCA (D Schwarz) and SYMBOL OF LOVE (M Yeni) were nervous in the stalls. d) MYTHICAL DREAM (M van Rensburg) jumped outwards and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After the scratching of YOU WIN AGAIN (S Veale) (Betting 5/2), the start of this race was delayed to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that WORK OF TIME raced awkwardly between the 400m and the 150m and proved difficult to assist. The Board has adjourned to review this ride. c) Jockey M Yeni reported that SYMBOL OF LOVE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding YOU WIN AGAIN (S Veale), this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 17/08/2024 to 23/08/2024 inclusive). YOU WIN AGAIN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) MYTHICAL DREAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
