THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIDWAY (G Wright) broke through the front of the stalls, was immediately restrained, returned to the start, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, declared suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay. b) HELIOTROPE (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Light rain continued to fall during the running of this race. b) FLIGHT DISPLAY (J Solomons) over raced in the early and middle stages. c) Approaching the 200m MIDWAY (G Wright), which initially shifted in, had to be steadied when brushed outwards by PRIME VENTURE (JP van der Merwe), which was brushed by OZARK (M Mjoka). d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MIDWAY (G Wright), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 18/08/2024 to 24/08/2024 inclusive). MIDWAY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) KING PELLES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gareth van Zyl was advised.
