DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, BRIGHTEST BLAZE BECAME RESTLESS AND BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATES. THIS GELDING WAS RESTRAINED BY JOCKEY L NHLAPO, RETURNED TO THE START, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, DECLARED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THEREAFTER,
UNDER THE RAINBOW (J R SYSTER) PROVED STUBBORN LOADING. THESE INCIDENTS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BRIGHTEST BLAZE (L Nhlapo) broke through the front gates. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer B Webber was advised (GT).
b) UNDER THE RAINBOW (J R Syster) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls. Trainer B Webber was advised to reschool this colt prior to his next engagement (GT).
c) KNIGHT'S FIRE (C Maujean) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
d) PRINCE OF MIRACLES (*N Nastili) was slow losing three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) As the start was effected, HAT TRICK OR TREAT (S Khumalo) was bumped out by UNDER THE RAINBOW (J R Syster), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b) FLYING PREDATOR (K Matsunyane), after being slow away, failed to muster speed and trailed the field throughout.
c) HAT TRICK OR TREAT (S Khumalo) hung in from the 300m.
d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BRIGHTEST BLAZE, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 22 August 2024 to 28 August 2024. BRIGHTEST BLAZE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer B Webber was advised.
e) MUSICAL SCORE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

a) HAT TRICK OR TREAT was ridden by Jockey S Khumalo (declared 21 August 2024 at 07H45).
b) FLYING PREDATOR was ridden by Jockey K Matsunyane (declared 21 August 2024 at 09H48).

a) ALONE TIME raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 19 August 2024 at 10H27).
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) WHAT A PREDATOR choked up.
THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
