THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STANLEY PARK (*D Pillay) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the starting stalls Apprentice D Pillay's (STANLEY PARK) right leg brushed the right hand side starting stall gate. This resulted in Apprentice Pillay losing the footing to his right side stirrup iron. As a consequence this gelding lost ground to the field. b) In the concluding stages MASK ON (C Maujean) was carried out marginally by TRIPPI T (C Habib) which shifted out sharply away from the crop and was straightened. As a consequence RHYTHM (A Mgudlwa) was carried out by MASK ON (C Maujean). c) Jockeys T Godden (DARING ACT) and S Khumalo (COTTON RON) reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) LOVE IN WINTER (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
