THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, it was brought to the Starter's attention that there was an issue with the starting stalls, which had been tested as per normal procedure. This necessitated a manual start to be effected. During the switchover, the outside bank of starting stalls opened, which resulted in ANALYTIC jumping out of the stalls, dislodging Jockey R Khathi and bolting the course and SHOUT AT THE MOON (X Carstens) jumping out of the stalls, being immediately restrained and returned to the start, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. This caused a delay. This was reported to the Racing Operator. b) JOU LEKKER DING (G van Niekerk) was stubborn loading. c) WINTER'S DRAGON (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing two lengths. d) PINK MOON (L Mxothwa) jumped awkwardly. e) UNITED WE STAND (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The saddle on PINK MOON (L Mxothwa) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. b) At the 150m TRUE HORIZON (M Mjoka) was held up behind GREEDANDDESIRE (A Andrews), was directed inwards and made contact with DAISY DUKE (K Steyn), which had to be steadied and, in turn, made contact with the hindquarters of PINK MOON (L Mxothwa), which was turned and unbalanced. An Inquiry will be held into this incident. c) JOU LEKKER DING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Byleveld, acting on behalf of Trainer VH Marshall, was advised.
