THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JACK IN THE GREEN (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. b) DREAMALITTLEDREAM (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. c) BOMBER BAY (A Andrews) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 250m WHITE SEAHORSE (J Solomons) shifted out sharply and had to be straightened. b) CHALICE FORT (D Ashby) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. c) When questioned regarding the improved performance of ETOILEFILLANTE (M Winnaar) compared to this gelding's run on 3 August 2024, Trainer D McLachlan told the Stewards that, in his opinion, this gelding had not acted in the soft underfoot conditions on that occasion. His explanation was noted and he was advised that the Stewards will monitor ETOILEFILLANTE's future performances. d) ETOILEFILLANTE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D McLachlan was advised.
