THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ELEGANT APPEAL (C Habib) jumped awkwardly. b) ALTA LEKKER (P Mxoli) jumped awkwardly inwards and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start VINTAGE CRYSTAL (R Fourie) made contact with ALTA LEKKER (P Mxoli), which jumped inwards. b) BEIJING BOULEVARD (S Khumalo) shifted out away from the crop and had to be steadied off the heels of ELUSIVE MATA (L Mxothwa) at approximately the 150m, when ELUSIVE MATA (L Mxothwa) shifted inwards away from the crop in the latter stages. Jockey L Mxothwa appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to prevent his mount from shifting ground in races. c) VINTAGE CRYSTAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
