THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY LUCK (L Mxothwa) jumped awkwardly. b) OUTER DIMENSION (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) AS FATE HAS IT (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) OUTER DIMENSION (K Minnie) over raced in the early and middle stages. b) Approaching the 300m, BACK FOR MORE (R Fourie) was baulked for a clear run and had to be steadied momentarily and switched out to obtain clear running at approximately the 200m. c) Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking LADY LUCK on two occasions forward of the saddle in the latter stages. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 500.00. d) Trainer GD Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate AS FATE HAS IT against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer GD Smith signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. e) AS FATE HAS IT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
