THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BREEDE BABY (R Fourie) and 'O CAPTAIN (*DB Geerthsen) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BREEDE BABY (R Fourie) over raced in the early and middle stages and proved difficult to settle. Thereafter Jockey R Fourie reported that BREEDE BABY choked up in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) 'O CAPTAIN (*DB Geerthsen) was hanging out from the 350m and was corrected at the 100m. c) Leaving the 300m UNION ROSE (S Veale) shifted outwards. Simultaneously, HUGSANDHIGHFIVES (M Yeni) shifted inwards slightly and made contact with UNION ROSE (S Veale) at approximately the 150m, which resulted in HUGSANDHIGHFIVES (M Yeni) becoming unbalanced for a number of strides. d) MR MOLONY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
