THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUENTASIA (C Habib) was stubborn to load. b) PRETTY ANALIA (S Moodley) reared in the stalls. Trainer B D Botes was advised to re-school this mare. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) During the loading process PRETTY ANALIA (S Moodley) was restless and reared on two occasions. As a result Jockey S Moodley dismounted this mare shortly before the start was effected. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward. After reviewing the patrol films, the Board was of the opinion that PRETTY ANALIA (S Moodley) was rendered riderless when the start was effected and acting in terms of Rule 61.5.10.3, in the event of where a horse in rendered riderless, PRETTY ANALIA (S Moodley) was declared a non-runner. b) The All Clear was delayed due to PRETTY ANALIA, which was declared a non-runner, to be reflected on the tote. c) PRINCESS HANNAH (S Veale) hung in from the 350m. d) BEADED GOWN (*J Botes) hung in from the 300m. e) Jockey R A Venniker reported that she felt something amiss with PANTEA in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the performance of PERFECT TRUST (S Khumalo) (9.20 lengths, 7/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PANTEA, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this mare is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D W Moore was advised. (Suspension date: 05.09.2024 - 03.11.2024 bdi) h) PRINCESS HANNAH (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P M Gadsby advised (DZ). Trainer P Gadsby was questioned regarding the improved performance of PRINCESS HANNAH (S Veale), the winner, compared to this filly's previous performances. Trainer Gadsby was of the opinion that the fitting of the tongue tie for today's race attributed to the improvement shown. The Board noted this explanation and advised Mr Gadsby to race this filly similarly equipped in the immediate future. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey S Moodley was the rider of PRETTY ANALIA (advised 04.09.2024/08h05). b) PRETTY ANALIA raced without ear muffs (advised 02.09.2024/08h20). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PANTEA : Bilateral epistaxis confirmed. 60 day suspension recommended. b) PERFECT TRUST : Not striding out right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) PRETTY ANALIA - Non Runner.
