THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BURN BRIGHT (K Minnie) was stubborn loading. b) GOLD QUEST (Y Ramzan) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. c) SWEET CAKE (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates. d) THREE CHEERS (C Maujean) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GOLD QUEST (Y Ramzan) was hanging in from the 300m. b) SUMMER HEAT (P Mxoli), which raced green, took a number of awkward strides between the 250m and 200m and Jockey P Mxoli did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. Jockey P Mxoli appeared before the Board and was questioned with regards to his not riding his mount from the 150m. He reported that this filly tired badly in the latter stages. Jockey P Mxoli was advised to report any circumstances that would affect the running of his mount and was further advised to encourage his mount across the finishing line, at least with his hands and heels, to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BURN BRIGHT (K Minnie), Trainer AC Greeff will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) THREE CHEERS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
