THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BOURNEMOUTH (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FIREALLEY (D Schwarz) was hanging in from the 400m and thereafter was baulked for a clear run from the 200m and had to be switched out at approximately the 150m to obtain clear running. b) Trainer JVA Strydom was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2 in that he failed to ensure that FIREALLEY was presented in the security area at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the second (2nd) race. Trainer JVA Strydom signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2 500,00. c) ELLIS ISLAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
