The saddle on LORD RANDOLPH (*M Mbuto) slipped forward en route to the start and this gelding had to be re-saddled at the start. This caused a delay to the start of this race. Thereafter a further delay was caused by the reasons stated in the Starters' report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (M V'Rensburg) was difficult and stubborn to load. b) REAL WAR (C Zackey) was restless in the stalls. c) GO GRAYSON GO (D Daniels), CRYSTAL CLEAR (C F Dicken), ROLLO THE VIKING (S Veale) and I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start GO GRAYSON GO (D Daniels) which raced green, shifted out sharply making contact with CRYSTAL CLEAR (C F Dicken). b) HIGHER LOVE (*S Bungane) hung out from the 200m. c) ROLLO THE VIKING (S Veale) raced green. d) In the concluding stages REAL WAR (C Zackey) shifted out away from the crop onto I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena). Thereafter, shortly before the finish REAL WAR (C Zackey) which continued to shift out away from the crop and I SALUTE YOU (G Lerena) which shifted in away from the crop, came together and brushed. A race review was called into this incident by a member of the Stipendiary Board. After reviewing the patrol film from the various angles, the Steward was of the opinion that the result of the race was not affected and therefore took no further action. e) Apprentice S Bungane (HIGHER LOVE) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. f) In view of the Starter's report with regard to GREENLIGHT EXPRESS (M V'Rensburg), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 09.09.2024 to the 15.09.2024. GREENLIGHT EXPRESS may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
