THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SKY KISSES (C F Dicken) and REGINA MARIS (S Veale) lost 1 length.
b) SACRED LILY (R A Venniker) fly-jumped leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) At the 350m WALKIE TALKIE (A Mgudlwa) was carried out marginally by SYRIAN STEEL (M Yeni) which hung out throughout.
b) DYNASTY'S LAST (C Maujean) hung out from the 300m.
c) At the 150m SYRIAN STEEL (M Yeni) was brushed out by SACRED LILY (R A Venniker) which hung out from the 300m. An Objection was lodged by Jockey M Yeni on behalf of the second placed horse SYRIAN STEEL against the winner SACRED LILY (R A Venniker) on the grounds of interference over the final 200m. The Board after hearing the evidence presented, was of the opinion that but for the interference SYRIAN STEEL (M Yeni) would not have beaten SACRED LILY (R A Venniker) and therefore over-ruled the objection. In arriving at this decision the Board took into account the extent of the interference and the distance of 0.3 lengths between these two horses at the finish. The Judge's result was allowed to stand and Jockey Yeni's deposit was refunded.
d) Apprentice J Botes reported that he felt something amiss with SILVER JUBILEE in the running and as a result did not persevere with his ride over the final 300m.
e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SILVER JUBILEE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer B Botes was advised. (Suspension dates : 12.09.2024 - 10.11.2024 bdi).
f) SACRED LILY (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Crawford acting on behalf of Trainer L Crawford advised (DZ).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) Jockey S Hlengwa (MZANSI LACE) weighed out at 52.8kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
a) SILVER JUBILEE : Bilateral Epistaxis confirmed. 60 day suspension recommended.
