THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LAUNCH CODE (S Khathi) was nervous in the stalls and reared. b) GUERRA (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LAUNCH CODE (S Khathi) clipped the heels of EUPHORIC (*DB Geerthsen), stumbled and became unbalanced shortly after the start. b) SCAMPTON (L Mxothwa) was hanging in in the straight. c) GUERRA (R Fourie) was hanging in in the latter stages. d) Jockeys S Khathi (LAUNCH CODE) and X Ndlovu (MEETATTHEWINDSOR) appeared before the Board and were advised not to use their crop above shoulder height. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding LAUNCH CODE (S Khathi), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 14/09/2024 to 20/09/2024 inclusive). LAUNCH CODE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) SCAMPTON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
