THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CATCH YOUR BREATH (K Minnie) and IDITA (*DB Geerthsen) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Trainer GD Smith approached the Board and advised that Jockey C Zackey was given instructions to use his crop sparingly on GIMME'S LASSIE. b) GIMME'S LASSIE (C Zackey) jumped outwards and made contact with SUMMER ODYSSEY (R Fourie) shortly after the start. c) MONTELENA (C Habib), BACK FOR MORE (X Ndlovu) and IDITA (*DB Geerthsen) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) CATCH YOUR BREATH (K Minnie) shifted out away from the crop from the 300m and was corrected. e) In view of the performance of SUMMER ODYSSEY (R Fourie) (Betting 7/2; Distance 7.35) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) GIMME'S LASSIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
