THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AMAZING (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading and thereafter was fractious, sat down in the stalls, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. b) ASINANTANGA (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing three lengths. c) KING CELTILLUS (D Schwarz) jumped outwards and made contact with the right side of the starting stalls. d) MANEKI NEKO (C Orffer) and HARUN AL RASHID (C Bantam) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching 1000m PALACE GIFT (O Noach) commenced to over race, raced onto the heels of LEGAL COUNSEL (R Fourie) and had to be steadied. b) GOLDEN DESTINY (C Zackey) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight. c) At the 400m GOLDEN DESTINY (C Zackey) rolled in and made slight contact with MENTE ET MANU (RA Venniker) which, in turn, made slight contact with ARIOVISTUS (L Mxothwa). d) ASINANTANGA (G van Niekerk), ARIOVISTUS (L Mxothwa) and HARUN AL RASHID (C Bantam) raced green. e) In view of the performance of WATER DRAGON (S Veale), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding AMAZING (JP van der Merwe), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load on a race day with a companion on two occasions. (Suspension dates: 22/09/2024 to 28/09/2024 inclusive). AMAZING may not be presented for re-passing during this period. g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ASINANTANGA (G van Niekerk), Trainer AN Marcus will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. h) LEGAL COUNSEL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
