THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TAXI TO THE MOON (G Lerena) was stubborn loading. Stable Employee M Peter was advised to reschool this colt prior to his next engagement (GT). b) CYMRIC (P Strydom) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MASTER CASPER was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2 testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 35 TCO2 mmol/L. Trainer J J van Vuuren was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer J J van Vuuren was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the threshold of 37 mmol/L and that consequently MASTER CASPER was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18 (Withdrawn at 11H30, 18/10 in the betting). MASTER CASPER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
