THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO TIME TO THE MOON (K A BREWER) PROVING RELUCTANT TO PROCEED TO THE START AND HAVING TO BE LED BY A HANDLER. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TIME TO THE MOON (K A Brewer) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow into stride. b) GOLDEN ASPEN (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TIME TO THE MOON (K A Brewer) proved reluctant to canter to the start. Trainer C Dawson was advised that should this mare behave in a similar manner in future, she may be suspended. b) Jockey M van Rensburg (GOLDEN ASPEN) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages and thereafter reported that his vision had been impaired by the kick-back and that this mare had made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. In view of the latter report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) NETTLETON (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) NETTLETON was ridden by Jockey P Strydom (declared 21 September 2024 at 14H19). b) HEIRLOOM: Jockey D De Gouveia weighed out at 55,3kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
