THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHINTO SHRINE (C Habib) and GOLDEN PAVILION (K A Brewer) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of GOLDEN PAVILION (K A Brewer), which over-raced in the early and middle stages and tired badly from the 400m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey P Strydom reported that DIWALI ROCKET resented the kick-back and took no interest in running. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) HAZLO GRANDE (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
