THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JET LEGACY (S Hlengwa) fly-jumped leaving the stalls and lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Jockey C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss with BOOM SHAKALAKA in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey M Yeni reported that TWENTY ONE MAY did not act in the prevailing good to soft underfoot track condition. c) USA'S HOPE (C Zackey) took an awkward stride approaching the 800m. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Following this report, the Race course Manager was advised of possible concerns in relation to the state of the track with particular reference to the racing line near to the running rail in the vicinity of the 800m. Repair work was carried out and the Stipendiary Board was subsequently advised that the race course was suitable to race. d) IMPERIAL POWER (*D Pillay), winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Apprentice D Pillay (IMPERIAL POWER) was only able to claim 3.5kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance and weighed out at 48.9kg. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) BOOM SHAKALAKA : Nothing obvious detected. b) USA'S HOPE : Nothing obvious detected. c) MASTER JOSH : Abnormal respiratory noise. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
