THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RANI OF JHANSI (*S Sosibo) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, CAPE CAPRI (K Matsunyane), JANE'S VISION (*B Plaatjies) and SIBERIAN WINTER (R Venniker) were hampered when tightened between FRENCH PRINCESS (M Yeni) and HAPPY ANALIA (S Hlengwa). Thereafter, JANE'S VISION (*B Plaatjies) was squeezed out and lost position. b) Approaching the 300m, FRENCH PRINCESS (M Yeni) was briefly baulked for a clear run. Thereafter, FRENCH PRINCESS (M Yeni) was carried in by HAPPY ANALIA (S Hlengwa) which was hanging in and shifted in. Jockey S Hlengwa (HAPPY ANALIA) appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to correct his mounts when they shift ground in races in future. c) At the 100m, FRENCH PRINCESS (M Yeni) was briefly baulked for a clear run and thereafter was switched in to continue its run. d) Approaching the 600m, WAR EMPRESS (C Maujean) faltered for no apparent reason. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performances of TARA STAR (A Mgudlwa) (7.60 lengths, 3/1 in the betting) and JANE'S VISION (*B Plaatjies) (7.20 lengths, 20/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) ICY LANCASTER (M V'Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
