IRREVOCABLE DREAM (C Murray) and GOLDEN MAN (*J R Syster) were slow into stride.Jockey G Lerena reported that CAPTAIN CHORUS travelled well in the early part of the race and thereafter tired badly from the 600m.In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.Trainer G V Woodruff was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this colt on return to stables.At approximately the 400m, IRREVOCABLE DREAM (C Murray) was brushed inwards by LASAIR (C Bantam) which shifted in off the heels of SHORTSTOP (M Khan) to obtain a clear run.Thereafter LASAIR shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stags. Jockey D L Habib reported that he felt something amiss with PRIVATE RULER in running and eased this gelding out of the race at the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. LASAIR (C Bantam) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.Trainer W H Marwing advised.In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PRIVATE RULER and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority for sixty days.Assistant Trainer F Bronkhorst advised.IRREVOCABLE DREAM was ridden by Jockey C Murray.INSIDE POLITICS raced equipped with alumites in front, unshod behind and without blinkers.GOLDEN MAN raced without blinkers.The veterinary surgeon reported: CAPTAIN CHORUS examined post race, nothing obvious detected.ACE OF SPEED examined post race, nothing obvious detected.PRIVATE RULER bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60 day suspension.Assistant Trainer F Bronkhorst advised.Scratched:STREAKING STAR and IN THE GAME reserve runners.
