TROIS TROIS QUATRE dislodged Jockey R A Venniker while exiting the parade ring chute. While Jockey Venniker was attempting to remount TROIS TROIS QUATRE this gelding bolted the course. TROIS TROIS QUATRE was caught in hand, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, and subsequently withdrawn. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NATYAM (C Zackey) was difficult to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) CAPE EAGLE (S Moodley) over-raced in the middle stages. b) At the 300m MADISON VALLEY (G Lerena) was carried in significantly by NATYAM (C Zackey) which was hanging in badly from the 350m. c) Approaching the 300m CAPE EAGLE (S Moodley) was eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of NATYAM (C Zackey) which was hanging in badly from the 350m. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey S Moodley on behalf of the 3rd placed horse CAPE EAGLE, against the 2nd placed horse NATYAM (C Zackey) on the grounds of interference approaching the 300m. The Board after hearing the evidence presented, was of the opinion that but for the interference CAPE EAGLE (S Moodley) would have beaten NATYAM (C Zackey) and therefore upheld the Objection. In arriving at this decision the Board took into account the extent of the interference and the momentum lost by CAPE EAGLE (S Moodley). Therefore the Objection was upheld, the Judge's result was amended and Jockey S Moodley's deposit refunded. d) In view of NATYAM (C Zackey) hanging in badly from the 350m, Assistant Trainer Gavin van Zyl acting on behalf of Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised to improve this gelding's racing manners in future. e) MADISON VALLEY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
