THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HEART OF THIEVES (*DB Geerthsen) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) KAROO GOLD (L Mxothwa) was hanging in badly from the 400m and proved difficult to assist. b) SUPER CASANOVA (P Mxoli) shifted outwards sharply away from the crop at the 300m and thereafter commenced to hang out. c) Apprentice DB Geerthsen reported that the saddle on HEART OF THIEVES slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the video footage. d) Trainer K Mitchley was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.3 in that she failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days of MO RIDGE entering her training establishment that it was a gelding. Trainer K Mitchley signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. e) KAROO GOLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised.
