THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KILEIGH'S FATE (*DB Geerthsen) was stubborn loading. b) FIRST WISH (K Minnie) was nervous in the stalls. c) GINGER PALACE (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls and stood awkwardly. d) SPIRIT PRINCESS (S Naidoo), LA PEQUENITA (X Ndlovu) and GALAXY MOMENT (Y Ramzan) jumped slow, losing one length. e) GREEN FAME (M Yeni) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) STATE CAPITOL (D Schwarz) recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer SB Kotzen, acting on behalf of Trainer GS Kotzen, was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) FIRST WISH (K Minnie) was allowed to shift outwards a significant amount of ground between the 300m and the 200m. Jockey K Minnie appeared before the Board and was questioned as to the reason he allowed this filly to shift outwards without any attempt to straighten. He explained to the Board that, in his opinion, this filly had come to the end of its run and it was his intention to allow this filly to shift outwards to get away from the other runners. Jockey K Minnie's explanation was noted. c) FROSTY RECEPTION (L Mxothwa) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) Jockey M van Rensburg (EAT PREY LOVE) dropped his crop at the 400m. e) GALAXY MOMENT (Y Ramzan) had to steady momentarily between FIRST WISH (K Minnie) and the inside running rail at approximately the 350m. f) Trainer GD Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of SPIRIT PRINCES. Trainer GD Smith signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000,00. g) IGNITETHELIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
