THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MOCHA BLEND (M Yeni) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MOCHA BLEND (M Yeni) raced green and hung out around the turn. b) An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey C F Dicken's (DEE DAY) ride in the concluding stages. c) In view of the performance of SILVER QUILL (C Habib) (14.30 lengths, 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey D Daniels signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of FATE DECREED, he misused his crop by striking this filly more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R7500 was imposed. e) Assistant Trainer Gavin van Zyl acting on behalf of Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for DI ROSA. Accordingly, a warning was issued. f) MERITORIOUS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
