THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HERITAGE RIDGE (G van Niekerk) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BENEATH THE CLOUDS (G Wright) took an awkward stride shortly after the start. b) Leaving the 600m OVER THE ATLANTIC (*I Taka) was carried outwards for a number of strides and then had to be steadied and directed inwards when close to the heels of HERITAGE RIDGE (G van Niekerk), which was directed outwards and towards the outside of the course on entering the straight. Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of HERITAGE RIDGE he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to OVER THE ATLANTIC approaching the 400m. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates to be advised) c) FRIDA KAHLO (R Fourie) was hanging out in the latter stages. d) ANGEL'S OASIS (JP van der Merwe) raced green. e) Jockey R Fourie reported that FRIDA KAHLO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) PRISCILLA MAISEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
