THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SON OF ERUPT (Y Ramzan) was hanging in from the 400m and was corrected. b) HAPHAZARD (C Habib) was hanging in from the 250m. c) MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY (K Minnie) had to steady momentarily off the heels of HAPHAZARD (C Habib) at approximately the 600m. d) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that AWAY WITH RED did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) Jockey M Yeni reported that CAPE FLOWER coughed post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) An Inquiry will be held into the reason MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY was not presented at the pre-race blood collection area at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the first (1st) race. g) Trainer E Kaknis was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.4 in that he saddled MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY outside of the designated area without obtaining the required permission. Trainer E Kaknis signed Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000,00. h) Trainer DA McKenzie was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate DAWN CLOUD against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer DA McKenzie signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. i) SON OF ERUPT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
