THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JUAN CARLOS (*DB Geerthsen) jumped slow, losing one length. b) PAINITE (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CENTRAL CITY (C Habib) was buffeted and became unbalanced between ALADO'S PRIDE (E Webber) and SYX HOTFIX (L Mxothwa) shortly after the start b) ALADO'S PRIDE (E Webber) was hanging in badly from the start until the first turn. c) In view of the performance of SYX HOTFIX (L Mxothwa), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline 3 in Appendix E on the use of the crop) in that he mis-used his crop by striking ALADO'S PRIDE in front of the saddle with his hand off the reins at the 1900m. Jockey E Webber signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. e) SPIN DOCTOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised.
