BENGAL CRIMSON was slow into stride. SUDDEN STAR jumped slow, losing one length. In view of the performance of TAMBORA, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. In view of the performance of PARKTOWN, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Jockey Domeyer was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he struck TURN IT UP HARVEY more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Domeyer signed an admission of guilt and was fined. At the 1000m, THE CAMBO was brushed outwards when PARKTOWN, which was hanging out and raced awkwardly with his head in the air, shifted outwards. SUDDEN STAR, which over raced, had to steady momentarily off heels of TURN IT UP HARVEY at approximately the 700m. ROYAL RETURN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
