THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COOL CAT (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SWISS WALT recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) Shortly before the finish COOL CAT (L Mxothwa) shifted out away from the crop and made slight contact with EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (M van Rensburg). c) Jockey C Zackey reported that AADEHYA did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer GD Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. d) Jockey E Webber appeared before the Board and was admonished with regard to the abrupt manner in which he eased MY AMI BEACH up just after the winning post. He was advised that he should allow his mount to ease up gradually post-race, in terms of Rule 62.2.11. e) MARQUEZ (R Fourie) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders) f) EYJAFJALLAJOKULL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
