THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DAIMYO (J Solomons) jumped awkwardly. b) VIHAAN'S BOMB (K Steyn) and PONTE PIETRA (S Veale) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FUTURE SWING (R Fourie) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. b) The saddle on PONTE PIETRA (S Veale), which pulled hard in the early stages and was hanging out, slipped forward slightly leaving the 1400m, which resulted in this gelding racing around runners and into a prominent position and compounding in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of BARATHEON (C Orffer), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) DAIMYO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
