THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GIMMIE'S COUNTESS (C Zackey) got her right hind leg caught on the running board, was taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay.
b) LITTLE SUZIE (G van Niekerk) was restless in the stalls.
c) WHISTLE THE TUNE (D Schwarz) was restless in the stalls and reared.
d) KINDA WONDERFUL (S Hlengwa) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) MON PETIT CHERIE (R Fourie) cast its right front shoe leaving the stalls.
b) The saddle on GARDEN OF EDEN slipped back shortly after the start, placing Jockey D Ashby at a disadvantage. This was confirmed on the video footage.
c) FESTIVAL CHIC (G Wrigth) raced wide without cover in the early stages.
d) In the concluding stages WHISTLE THE TUNE (D Schwarz) rolled out and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of GIMMIE'S COUNTESS (C Zackey), which rolled in.
e) Shortly before the finish, KINDA WONDERFUL (S Hlengwa) was directed inwards away from the heels of BEWARE THE BOMB (S Veale).
f) In view of the report from the Starter, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine GIMMIE'S COUNTESS (C Zackey).
g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding WHISTLE THE TUNE (D Schwarz), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 10/11/2024 to 16/11/2024 inclusive). WHISTLE THE TUNE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding LITTLE SUZIE (G van Niekerk), Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
i) MON PETIT CHERIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (TJ)
