THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FAITHFUL NEO (J Penny) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) SHESAROCKET (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, LA CHANCE (J R Syster) was buffeted between BLAZING SKY (P Mxoli) and FAITHFUL NEO (J Penny), which stumbled outwards leaving the stalls. b) CYBER SPIRIT (L Nhlapo) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) JILTED (K Matsunyane) hung in from the 400m. d) BLAZING SKY (P Mxoli) hung out from the 300m. e) Jockey G Lerena reported that SHESAROCKET made an abnormal respiratory noise and changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey L Nhlapo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride CYBER SPIRIT out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, prejudicing his chance of obtaining fifth (5th) place. Jockey L Nhlapo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2600. g) FAITHFUL NEO (J Penny), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
