THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MANEKI NEKO fly-jumped awkwardly and unbalanced Work Rider M Sigenu leaving the stalls. As a consequence, MANEKI NEKO lost four lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. b) SICILY (+B Ncwadi) and STATEHOOD (+L Geledu) were slow into stride. c) TOWNSMAN (+M Mjokwa) and CASA ESTIVA (+A Bikwe) made contact leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start with regard to MANEKI NEKO (+M Sigenu) in stall gate 5 and were satisfied that this gelding had not been impeded and therefore took no further action. b) After being slow to begin, MANEKI NEKO (+M Sigenu) raced detached from the field in the early stages. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MANEKI NEKO (+M Sigenu), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 20/11/2024 to 26/11/2024 inclusive). MANEKI NEKO may not be presented for re-passing during this period. d) RAFA BAY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
