THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BLACK PATH (M Mjoka) jumped outwards.
b) WEHAVEASITUATION (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length.
c) SENHORA VICTORIA (R Fourie) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) ANALYTIC (D Schwarz) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led riderless by a Handler, causing a delay. This filly is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as she proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day.
b) Shortly after the start, WEHAVEASITUATION (G Wright), which was slow to begin, had to be steadied off the heels of BLACK PATH (M Mjoka), which shifted out leaving the stalls.
c) BLACK PATH (M Mjoka) raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight.
d) Leaving the 200m DOUBLE DASH (*I Taka) and FLY TO RIO (A Arries) were carried inwards and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between SENHORA VICTORIA (R Fourie), which was hanging out and ALESSIA ASHEVILLE (C Bantam), which shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. Jockey C Bantam appeared before the Board and was advised that the Stewards expect him to straighten his mounts sooner than he had on this occasion.
e) WEHAVEASITUATION (G Wright) was awkwardly placed on the outside of TRES CHIC (C Orffer) at the finish.
f) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that UNITED WE STAND did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
g) In view of the performance of WEDDING BELLS (D Ashby), which was hanging out in the straight and was not persevered with in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
h) SENHORA VICTORIA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised. (SC)
i) TRES CHIC, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised. (SC)
