THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ON MY HONOUR (D Schwarz) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GARRIX was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 36 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer ELP Steyn was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer ELP Steyn was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the threshold of 38 mmol/L and that consequently GARRIX was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 15h21, 20/1 in the betting). GARRIX was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer ELP Steyn was advised (Dr E Reynders) b) After being saddled, ONE STRIPE (G Lerena) proved unruly and commenced to sweat up. Permission was granted for this colt not to parade and to proceed directly to the canter past. Trainer VH Marshall's attention was drawn to the provisions of Rule 56.4.1.2. c) ONE STRIPE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
